Fireflies

Things to work on:

A. Write on my blog more!

I know, I am horrible. It has been just a few months. I need to work on finding more time for these things! So here go the top 5 exciting things that have been happening in my life..

1. Craig came home from his mission!
I don't know if I mentioned this in my last post. I can' remember though. But it great having him home! Well right now he is actually partyin' it up in Provo for Summer. It is quite fun to have him in the Single's Ward though! For some reason this always happens that everyone always things we are dating! Can you not see the family resemblance people! Come on! I think he is adjusting fine but you know he does have his awkward moments. :)

2. Corrine graduated from High School!
She finally did it! I mean, I understand the senioritis, so I think she is very glad to be done! She now is working full-time at the pool being the awesome assistant coash for the summer swim team. She is loving it and she is soooo good! I am very proud of her. ☺

3. I have a trip planned for Utah!
Finally!! We are planning a trip in October to go down to Provo. We are going to hit up a classic BYU football game and then visit some good friends and family. I am excited to back down in P-town.

4. Single’s Ward…
I know… you are thinking “why in the world is this on the top ten list?” Well the
ward is not too bad! Especially during summer because the ward is big! And I have met a lot of very cool people this past few months. It has been pretty fun. Not too shabby for a single’s ward!

5. Summer is here!!
SUN, SUN, SUN! I am SO ready for some fun in the SUN! I am so excited for the weather to be nicer and not so much rain! My tomatoes are starting to grow too! I have made it a goal this summer to just do stuff… lots of stuff! I want to make this a summer to not forget!!

Baby Love...

It has been awhile since I have posted, so I have decided to write!

The sad thing is I can't think of anything really exciting to write about! Life is kind of normal right now. Work is going great and I am learning things everyday. Church has been wonderful and I love getting to know the sisters. :)

We just finished up our RS Birthday Party and I think it went well! We had Chicken Caesar Salad and a delicious Broccoli Salad with Bread. Then for dessert we had just ice cream and brownies. I didn't really realize it until afterward but the entire dinner portion was green! Since it was St.Patty's Day I was a little surprised by my thoughtfulness. Honestly, I had no idea, I just picked salad because it would have low prep time and you didn't have to heat it and the Broccoli salad because I was caving it. :) Well I hope all the sisters don't think I am too horrible of a person for that one.

One exciting thing in my life is that my brother is coming home soon! He has been on the mission for almost 2 years now. We dropped him off at the MTC March 19th 2 years ago!! My parentals are leaving in a little bit to go pick him up in Argentina! I get the privilege of picking them all up at the airport after!! I am so incredibly excited to see him! It will be fun to almost have a full household! Well I better get back to work, my break is over.

Have a wonderful day!

P.S. IT IS ALMOST SPRING!!!!!! Flowers and plants will be a'blooming!

DISNEYLAND.....

Just about the most magical place on earth!!!

I will start out this wonderful ode to Disney with a little bit of sad news that dates back some time. My senior year of high school. My family decided on a trip to Disneyland and California Adventures but this trip just so fated to be on the weekend of drill lock-in. Thus, I was not able to attend. Since then, there has been much mocking and pitying looks from family members that I was not able to attend. I know, sad right?

But my amazing mother made it up big time with the invitation to go to Disneyland with a big fun group as my graduation present. Ummm.... YES!!! So plans were set and we were away over Valentine's Day weekend for a little fun in the sun and some very fun times.

Our group consisted of my mother, sister, her friend A and her family, her friend S & S and their brother and mother. A total of 12 of us all. And yes it was a fantastically fun group. We had many of fun moments that will stay with me forever! So here are some pictures for all of those who were waiting:

:)

This was the group of "kids" 8 in total. This was our first day in the magical world...

Jungle Tour... yeah... it was exciting but B would have been a better tour guide... :)

S & S on Splash Mountain... aren't they just fun. I do enjoy them.

Mother Dear knows I am not a morning person but decided to document it.

Corry & Me in front of California Adventures with matching sunglasses. :) Always gotta have the sister picture.

Mother, Corry, and Me...

Corry & Me

After the Grizzly... very wet but SO MUCH FUN!!!

The Jedi Training Show... just about the cutest thing ever!!! I want my future children to do this. So adorable!!

One of the greatest highlights of the trip. Joe's Crab Shack!! Most delicious crab that I have ever had. Yummy. I am kind of drooling just thinking about it right now. So amazingly good.

My mom says that there is a special place in heaven for Walt Disney and his greatness. I completely agree with that statement. Amazing place... :)

DISNEYLAND!!! Happiest place on earth!!

I have been reprimanded by a few people for being a slacker about my blog… I apologize!! I know I have been horrible. Simply horrible. Okay update on life:

Work: Still going great! I am getting a little bit (just a little bit) better on getting up so early! 6:00 am comes very early for me. But I love the people I work with. They are all so different and fun. They truly make my job fun and wonderful. This Christmas season was a learning experience with all the things that happen from Poinsettias to Kringle. It was simply wonderful! I am still learning so much and it has been good. ☺

Church: My calling is going wonderful. I am getting to know all the girls and they are all wonderful! I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone and they are just fun. There was a change in the presidency so now the first counselor is the president and then my good friend (you know who you are) was called to be the first counselor. It has been great working with her and always wonderful to work with the Presidente. ☺ The ward has some great and interesting people. Let’s just say that I feel like I always have some type of story. Makes me laugh just to think about them. But the ward is great and I really am getting into my niche.

Family: So much has been happening with the family, good and bad of course. ☺ My dad and brother are still working away with their new business. They just hired a new guy down in Palm Springs. I might regret admitting it, but it is great to have my older brother around sometimes. ☺ He is a very funny guy. Now the sister is on her Senior year!! I can’t believe it.. It makes me feel a little old. We have gotten a lot closer since my move home and everything. We have had some very fun times. Mom is still working hard in her job, church, and keeping the family stable and afloat. ☺ She is basically wonderwoman. For all of those who have met her, you can understand. She is amazing. Now the little bro is coming home from his mission in a little over 2 months!! I can’t believe it. 2 years have passed by so fast. My parentals are flying down there to meet him and the Presidente and to tour the country a little bit. And then they are back and we will almost have a full house! Craziness… WOW! I have missed him like crazy. It is going to be so weird having him back! I am so looking forward to it. ☺

Other random shindigs: Well let’s see, in my life…. I have decided to take up crocheting. I am not that good… I seem to drop stitches a lot! So I am learning. I have become obsessed with Bones. (the little sister can complain to you all day about this one) I really, really like the show. The little sister and I have gotten quite good at Mario Kart for Wii and also Super Mario Brothers for Wii. (Actually the second on we kind of suck at but we are working on it) I am still learning constantly about plants and all that fun stuff. It has been amazing to work in a place that gives me hand on experience. Simply wonderful. Um… in a few weeks I will be going to Disneyland for the first time!!! Happiest place on earth!!! The group is my mother, little sister, about 8 family friends, and me! Craziness! It is going to be so much fun! Sadly we are going over Valentine’s Day weekend. Blah, but we are going to make the best of it… Yesssss… Love you all!!

Take a Bow...

I just finished watching the BYU vs. Tulane game and BYU won 54-3. Wow! I mean seriously, beating Oklahoma and then kind of trouncing , okay well really trouncing Tulane.. Quite amazing if I don't say so myself. It is very interesting watching the games from home now... I mean 5 years straight going to the games. But I do enjoy watching them with my family. They are ALWAYS fun. Yay Cougs!

While being at home I have become quite addicted to TV. I think Corrine is the reason why. :) Well it's true... she keeps on getting me to watch all these shows with her and then I started DVRing other shows I wanted to watch too. SO BAD! I have become obsessed with The Rachel Zoe Project, Glee, the Food Network, (and many others) and I watched the premier of The Vampire Diaries too... Personally it is a little to close to Twilight. I mean seriously, high school vampire, can't see any other girls except "the one", very interesting. Glee is just funny and they sang JOURNEY!! Of course I would love that one. Anyway, I think it is getting to quite an unhealthy level and I might need to cancel some of my recordings. :)

BIG NEWS!! I forgot to write about this last time... I got to go see Wicked again.... It was absolutely, positively, the most amazing thing EVER! My sister has never seen it and so my mother dear promised to take her when it came into town next. So.. they came to the Paramount Theater in Seattle and we went on Thursday night. Oh heavens... just wonderful! I get goose bumps every time I see that show! (Which really is only twice but you know... both times!) And this time I got a shirt to commemorate the seeing of this amazing piece of artistry. Oh just pure bliss!!!

Congrats BYU on the superb wins... you are making me quite proud to be an alum. :)

Halo...

I have realized that I am not doing very good with my blog writing. :) I need to be much much better.

Some exciting things have happened in my life though! I got a new calling! When I first moved into my new single's ward, I was a little scared to put down my previous callings. (RS President, 2nd counselor, and RS teacher) But then I couldn't lie because when they receive my records, they can see all my previous callings. So when I called into the Bishop's office a few Sunday's ago, I was a little nervous... yeah he asked to me to be the 2nd counselor in the Relief Society.

I am a little nervous!! I got to teach today, but it has been awhile. :) So anyway, NEW CALLING! Quite exciting!!

It has been WAY too long since my last entry! Criminy! I am just a little behind.

Okay updates... my job at Molbak's is basically wonderful! I have loved it and I have learned SO MUCH! It has been great to try something new and extend my "vast" knowledge in landscape. My first day proved that I was just a little out of my league with just ONE Plant ID class. Sorry BYU. That education was not complete. Just kidding :) I have made many AWESOME friends at work though. It makes it fun to work there.

So since my position was seasonal and they only kept about 1 or even no one on, I sadly didn't get to stay on in Garden Plants... but it is okay! Since I guess they like me... I get to stay on in other departments! I interviewed today for the accounting department and I will be working there for now! And then possibly in the cashier area. My good old training at the BYU Bookstore is coming into play again. :) LOVE IT! In the accounting department I get my own desk and name plate on the door! I feel so official.

Work is great. I am loving Molbak's and I will be starting Monday in my new position! Now the social scene, I have been bad about keeping up but the single's ward is good! I have been frequently, but the activities have been a little harder. My work schedule had me work a few late nights till about 8. I missed quite a number activities. The ward is big right now for summer though!

The family is great! My dad is just working away with my older brother Chris in getting ready for this coming season for sales. They are heading up to Alaska in the next few weeks. And I will be going with them! First time visit to Alaska! I get to drive up there with my dad and then spend a week there and fly back. And my dad is taking me fishing!! I am really excited if you can't tell. :) I am seriously stoked! :) Corrine just finished her Junior year at Newport.. that means she is Senior next year and then graduates! Time flies. She is so funny and we are actually getting along a lot better than we ever did before! It has been great. Mother dear is still working hard and is the wonderful same as ever. :) She makes my lunches. Wonderful mother. :) Oh and of course Craiggy! He is doing AWESOME! He just got transferred to a new area in Argentina and is working hard. :) He finally had his first baptism and is so happy. :) Weekly emails are truly heaven sent.

Well life is going great! Making new friends and connecting with the old ones. It has been great seeing my old high school friends! I will post pictures soon of Alaska! I am so excited for vacation!!

Love you all!!

FELIZ CINCO DE MAYO!

Graduation is done!!

I know it has kind of taken me awhile to write this post but it has been a CRAZY past couple weeks.

I officially graduated Brigham Young University on Thursday/Friday April 23/34 2009!! It was wonderful! We first had Commencement on Thursday where President Uchtdorf and Elder Nelson. They were great speakers and it was kind of nerve wracking doing the "processional" thing and walking by them. Scary! I had to do the typical graduation and feel like an idiot while my parentals and family were trying to find me in the MASS of graduates. The texting conversation is definitely a keeper. :) So then they pronounced everyone an official graduate. But of course you have to go through Convocation to actually be considered a graduate I guess.

Convocation was on Friday and was just wonderful. I wore my new graduation outfit and walked across the stage (WITHOUT TRIPPING!!) and received my diploma case. They won't send you the diploma until a few weeks later. Then we did the pictures outside and all that jazz. Lissa came up with Andrew to take some family pics for me and it was so nice of her! And they turned out great!! Thanks Lissa!

After graduation was just fun after fun. :) Got to spend some time with my aunt, uncle, cousin, grandma and so forth. Always fun to get the family together. We had some amazing WIZARD tournaments. Great game.

Sunday morning my parents and Chris flew back and Cory and started our long trek home. And let me tell you, it was VERY entertaining to pack up all my stuff the day before. I had SO MUCH STUFF! By the end I was just tossing stuff away and cramming stuff into my car where there were any spaces. Dad had some idea what he wanted to do with some plastic wrap stuff from Home Depot and then these ratcheting things. I don't know but it looked pretty funny.

After our eventful drive. I had one day to unpack everything and then my birthday. :) And then my first day of work! My work schedule has been pretty normal. I work from about 10:30 to about 7:00. So not as bad as the Bookstore hours! Well until the weekends, and then I bite the bullet and work 11:00 to 8:00. But closing at Molbak's is SOO much easier than closing the Bookstore. People actually leave on time! It is simply wonderful. Oh and I don't have to wait until all the registers are in, I can just leave once I start getting all the customers out of the area. WONDERFUL!

So my day at work consists of helping customers, re-stocking plants, and answering a lot of questions I have no idea what the answers are. Even my horticultural classes didn't prep me very well. And the fact that all my classes were in Utah and there are VERY different from the plants here in Washington. But I am learning everyday! It is great to work with everyone at Molbak's, they are so nice! And of course I get to work with plants which is great!! I always find a new plant I want each day but I don't have any room at home to plant them! I really want to start a tomato plant in my backyard but I would have to put it in a pot because we have like NO place to plant it! Thank you Dad and his entire backyard a sport court idea. :)

In a nutshell, that is my life so far. I got to work, come home and then just chillax with the family until the next day of work comes along. :) It is nice to have a reliable schedule and a full-time job. :) Let's just hope it is longer than seasonal! Gotta love Molbak's! :)

I OFFICIALLY HAVE A JOB!!!

I am ecstatic!! I was hired to work at Molbak's in Woodinville! I will be starting a few days after I get back to Washington. I will be working in the Annuals and Perennials area and I am going to learn so much!

I also got my graduation outfit today! It is great. I like to put in the "sassy" category. :) I am hoping it will pass my sister's test of approval. I think it is funny that I found the shoes and then the rest of my outfit followed. :) I will put up pictures sometime after graduation.

Hello all!!

The time is getting short... I officially have 21 days in Provo left! Ahhhh! Craziness!! Woo hoo!! I have started packing up my room and came to realization that I will have to toss a lot more stuff than I anticipated. Hopefully it will work out... we will see. Luckily I have my expert packer of the car in the family. Thanks mother! So yes, the moving process is coming along just fine.

I applied for my first job this past week! Molbaks in Woodinville is hiring! So we will see what happens. I really really just want to have something stable set up for when I get home. :) I would LOVE to work there, it is my mother's favorite nursery!

Wish me luck! Peace... :)
