In the Life of Kendy....

I had to put this picture up of my wonderful brother Craiggy. This is from my dad's old phone. :) They were putting in the washer and dryer in the condo up in Alaska and Craiggy had to put it in and got kind of stuck in the closet. Oh I miss him! Gotta loves my missionary hermano. :)

It is kind of crazy how things in your life can change so quickly!

This entire past year I have been looking forward to my impending graduation this April 2009. Being excited is a mild way of putting my feelings. I was ready to get out of Provo and back home to get into the real world. This has been my mind set for the past while especially since I am killing myself with classes this semester.

Last week I decided on a whim to look at the major of Landscape Management. I am doing the Landscape Management Minor right now but jut out of curiosity I wanted to see the major. Looking over it I realized that after Winter semester I will have almost completed a little over 70% of the required classes!

Thinking it over, it seemed quite tempting to just stay and extra year and then double major with a degree in Home and Family Living and Landscape Management. So I have been thinking and debating over this for the past week. It just been on my mind and won't leave! You know when you have a big decision to make and you know you have a lot of time to decide but still it won't go away? That is what this was doing to me! It was kind of driving me crazy!

After discussing it with family and friends and praying about I have come to a decision! I know you guys are all anxious to hear! Well this is the decision so far but it might change because that is how life goes. My decision is to stay another year and graduate in April 2010 with a double major! Craziness... I know! So all of those who thought you were going to get rid of me this April, I am sorry to disappoint you in being here in Provo for yet another year. :)

I have just been thinking that I am pretty much spoiled. I know it is hard to admit, but there it is! My daddyo would just love that one. He always encourages us to admit this and to be proud of the fact that we are spoiled. My father called me last week and told me that we are switching phone services YET again.

Since I am not at home to have my phone swapped, I will be getting a new phone number and a new phone. Specifically an iPhone. :) I know I am spoiled! For all of those who have negative thoughts in my direction I would like to say that it is a used phone. My dad got the new iPhone and now he is giving his old one to my older brother and then my older brother is giving me his. And then my mom is getting my dad's other old one. Man alive we have quite a large quantity of iPhone's in our possession in my family.

It will be weird to have a new number though. I have had the same phone number since about junior year of high school. Wow, that has been quite a long time! Crazy how time flies.

So, the time is coming for graduation and I am getting asked the repetitive question of what I am going to do with my life. I would like to help alleviate the worries of everyone and tell you that I have a small understanding of what I might like to do! Quite exciting, I know!

In the course of my studies here at BYU, I have been doing a lot of work with plants and such and it has encouraged me to look into the Green industry. I was looking online at some places up in Washington and I found this amazing nursery up in Redmond! They have some amazing things about them that has really made me consider to work for them... in the future of course. Well after graduation basically. My mother dear looked at the website and was excited for me also! So things are going quite well in that department. It feels quite good to know what you will be doing somewhat in the future.

Just pure relief.

Another semester has begun...

Since I will be graduating this April, I have decided to basically die this semester! I am currently taking 17 credits and working about 20 hours a week! I don't know why... Well actually I do know why but I don't know how I got to this point. I just recently added on my minor of Landscape Design last Winter semester and fell in love with it! With this horrible timing of being a senior in all I am trying to get as many Landscape classes in as possible. I am taking Landscape Structures, Careers in Horticulture, Interior Landscapes, Herbaceous Plants, Intro to Family Processes, Money in the Family, and Living with Plants. Luckily most of the classes are 2 credit classes and are not as difficult as the 3 credit courses. But still... it is a lot to handle in one semester.

Don't worry it will be crazy but I have to do it! This leaves next semester to take Soil Science, Landscape Graphics, Arboriculture, Bidding and Estimating, and then some other odd and end classes for my major. This is what I get for slacking off all those semesters by only taking 12 or even less credits.

My deep hope is that this semester will be bearable. I just need to finish, get along with next semester and then GRADUATE! Quite exciting! I have no idea what I will be doing after I graduate though! Now going into Landscape Design there are so many more opportunities. My careers class will help me a lot to figure out what I want to do and also the Career/Internship Fair next month will also steer me in the right direction. I have been looking at some companies at home to see if I would be interested in working with them. There are just so many choices! I will just have to see where I will be going!

But have no worries, I will be going to Washington! I don't think I could be in Utah for one more year. I think I have had my wonderful experience here and it is time to move on. I have heard from many that once you leave you will miss it, but I refuse to be in that group. I have had my time in Provo and don't regret a minute of it! But I need to move on and not dwell on what I will be leaving behind. I am going to try to have the right attitude here. Let's hope... Well I better be off do some more of the never-ending homework! Peace...

I found out yesterday some heart-wrenching news. I will not be able to see my beloved Dave Matthews Band tomorrow night. They were going to perform but LeRoi Moore sadly passed away on the 19th. It is devastating news. They decided to postpone two of their concerts, one is California and the one tomorrow in West Valley. I am quite sad about this news.

My older brother used to listen to Dave Matthews Band quite often in his teenage years. After listening to them, I became hooked. They are simply superb!! I love their style and their great music! Amazing! I have always wanted to go to one of their concerts at The Gorge in Washington, but sadly after hearing my brother's tales, there was some hesitancy. One year when my brother went, he stayed the night at one of the campgrounds. During the night a random stranger came into his tent and disposed of some excess moisture from his system. For some reason this drunk thought the tent was a restroom. Hmm... Very interesting. Since then I have been a little apprehensive about going to a Dave Matthews Band.

But now, I am so completely ready to see Dave Matthews Band LIVE!! I cannot tell you how ecstatic I was for tomorrow. When my roommate told me the despairing news, I was quite down-trodden. I sincerely hope that we will have Dave here soon for his grand performance style and glorious rhythmic sounds. I love Dave Matthews Band!! Well soon I will be able to fulfill my dream of seeing Dave live. :)

I would just like to tell everyone that I have completed Breaking Dawn! For those of you who do not know this book, and what it means in the lives of most of the Stephenie Meyer fanatics; Breaking Dawn is the final installment of the Twilight series.

I promise I am not as obsessed as those crazed fanatics around the world who were waiting months, days, minutes, and milliseconds until the book was released. I just borrowed a copy from my roommate when she finished the book. Quite simple huh?

I have been reading it sparingly since Saturday, and I was a little nervous for all the negative hype there has been on the Internet. (By the way Shayne did you notice I capitalized the "I" in Internet??) But I have to say after reading it all the way through, I am pleased with the outcome.

People were complaining about her lack of intimacy scenes. Come on people! She is a Mormon author who needs to make her audience pleased with a relationship between a vampire and a human! I think she did just a fine job, thank you very much! And let me tell you, it is made up with the crazy twists in this final book!

I guess I really shouldn't call it the final book because everyone has been telling me there will be more books. Not from Bella's perspective but from other characters. Whatever, it is the final book of the series for me. Alright?

After reading the book I really enjoyed it and felt it was a good and happy ending for the series. For all of those who thought Bella was going to choose Jacob in the end... Ha! I have to admit I am an Edward fan all the way! And for those Jacob fans, don't worry he gets something even better out of the deal with Bella and Edward.

So all those Twilight-haters, stop complaining and just read the books! You will see that there are some who are obsessed, but there are some who just enjoy a good read. And also it's overall just a happy story (and yes a love story but some fighting in it too!). Read it!! And then after you can have your own opinion on the book. Thanks!

For our weekend assignment we had to do something nice for someone who is more stressed than me... Heavens!! It was quite hard to come up with someone who is in that dreadful category. I finally found someone at work! Since I spend so much time there it was a little easy to find this specific person.

After talking this poor soul on Friday I found out that is trying to take her finals early. This meaning that she had to take one more exam and then two finals in the span of 5 days. Now these are not free ride finals. Let me tell you, they were Accounting finals!

Before I could even ask or think of something in my kind nature to do for her, she asked me if I could work late for her on Monday so she could take an exam that day. I casually answer, "Of course," such an easy way to complete my weekend assignment.

Basically, my attempt of finding someone overall stressed to an extreme, well at least compared to me, was quite easy. It was an enjoyable experience of doing that splendid service for a friend. Great opportunity...

I have decided it is time for some movie reviews!

A couple weeks ago I went to go see The Dark Knight. It was amazing! The night before we watched Batman Begins to get us in the mood for the new movie. There was quite a lot of hype about The Dark Knight, so I was a little apprehensive because it is usually not true. But after seeing this movie I have to say that I agree with all the wonderful things that were said about it! Such a great plot and all the characters were superb! A couple of things that bother me about the movie were first, the really low voice of Batman. He almost sounded like an old lady that had been smoking all her life. Personally it could have been a little more normal. The last thing that upset me was that they killed a character that could have had a great run in the next movie! I won't say who was killed because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Now the positive aspects of the movie... there were some amazing action scenes! Some a little violent but overall it was bearable. So if you have the opportunity to see The Dark Knight you must go! You will soon have a very similar opinion to mine!

Now moving on to the other movie that I went to see this past weekend... Mamma Mia!!! I was a little nervous about seeing this movie because I have never been interested in the Broadway Musical. After seeing Mamma Mia, all nerves aside, it was just about the most hysterical movie I have seen this year! The ABBA music made you want to go straight out and buy the soundtrack. The characters were so funny and did such a great job in their roles. Basically throughout the entire movie I just wanted get up and be the dancing queen in the movie theater. Sorry, bad joke on that one. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show! Now if you have an opportunity to see this movie, it is a must see for the summer! Simply amazing.

It is always really tough to get out of a slump week. It is not very much fun when you have so many things go wrong all in one week. You sometimes wish they would be spaced out or something. This past week my wonderful faithful computer of over 4 years finally had it last run. It just wouldn't start again! It saddens me greatly. One of the worst parts about it is that everything was on that computer! I promise I backed it up, but the hardrive is at home! The other bad things about this horrifying experience is that I had to buy another computer. Now I know some don't see this as a bad thing but when you really don't have all the money to purchase a brand new computer it kind of puts a dent in things. Oh well... I am just hoping that they will be able to get everything off my computer because I really don't want to have nothing until I go home and update my computer with the other hardrive. Heavens!!

One good aspect of this weekend is that I had the privilege to see The Dark Knight!! It was AMAZING! I have to admit I was a anticipating a huge disappointment, because whenever someone tells me about a new movie and proclaim its greatness, I am a tad bit wary. But oh this movie did not disappoint in any way! It was exciting and I have to say quite violent! Meaning in the sense of some gruesome ways of people dying, but not really showing it. Just the imagery was enough for me!! Overall it was a superb movie! I would go see it again in a heartbeat! For all of you who have are debating on seeing the movie.. GO SEE IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!! Well that is about all I have to say about that. :)

This past week I have had my sister staying with me. A couple of years ago she visited me and it was about a week too long. I love my sister but sometimes it drains me a little too much. This time when she came to visit she brought her friend with her. Two sixteen year olds living in a small apartment, I have to be honest, is worse than having six roommates. It was just physically and emotionally draining to have them both here! Don't get me wrong, I loved having them visit, but it takes a lot out of me! My sister's friend had never been to Utah before so we did some of the classic sites. We went to the dollar theater first and foremost. This was my brothers all-time favorite place to take dates here his freshman year. The next item of our list of fun was to take a little trip to Park City. My sister loves outlet malls! It seems like a perfect solution to take them out there for a small shopping extravaganza. My favorite part of their entire trip was our tour of Salt Lake. My sister's friend's mother wanted only one thing for her daughter to see and that was Temple Square. We first started at the Conference Center. I have never taken the entire tour so it was very interesting. Out next trip was around the temple, the Provo Tabernacle, and lastly the visitor center. It was a good trip and we all enjoyed it! The other must have trips were restaurants. The classic of Cafe Rio, Fuddruckers, Rumbi, and finally Macaroni Grill. It was simply superb! Even with our differences my sister and I have we had a wonderful time. I learned a lot about her and it was an enjoyable time to have her here in Provo.
